Ductus Deferens
The ductus deferens continues from the tail region of the epididymis and transports sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory ducts in preparation for ejaculation.
The path it takes begins at the inferior pole of the testes, before ascending to enter the spermatic cord which goes through the inguinal canal to enter the abdominal cavity by passing through the deep inguinal ring. It then enters the pelvis where it’s distal end enlarges to form the ampulla. Here, it is joined by a short duct from the seminal vesicle to form the ejaculatory duct.
