Female Reproductive System
The female reproductive system is located within the pelvis and is responsible for the production and fertilization of gametes and carrying a developing embryo and later fetus, to term.
It is made up of external and internal organs such as:
Vulva
External female genitalia.
Vagina
Muscular tube which connecting the uterus and cervix to the external vaginal orifice.
Cervix
Lower part of the uterus.
Uterus
Location of normal implantation of an early embryo.
Uterine tubes
Connect the ovaries to the uterus, to transport the ovum towards the uterus.
Ovaries
Female gonads that are the site of gametogenesis.
