The hip bone is an irregularly shaped bone that is formed by the fusion of the ilium, ischium, and pubis. There are two hip bones in humans and they meet at the pubic symphysis together with the sacrum and coccyx. Each hip bone is also connected to its corresponding femur at the hip joint.
